Job Title: Sr. Director of Aquatics
Position Type: Full Time, Salaried
Salary Range: $48,000-$55,000
Position Overview
This position is responsible for the overall delivery of safety,
programming, and service in the Aquatics department. This
includes all aspects of staffing, budgeting and forecasting,safety
and service protocols and aquatic best practice adherence.
Duties
- Adherence to YMCA Child Safeguarding policies,
- Adherence to YMCA Occupational Health and Safety policies,
- Serve as a positive role model to all staff and
stakeholders,
- Ensure service and brand standards are met and exceeded,
- Follow a clean culture through checks and constant
cleaning,
- Ensure aquatic safety and best practices are met and
exceeded,
- Hire, train, coach, supervise, evaluate, and support all
aquatic staff,
- Maintain employee records of certifications and other related
documentation,
- Oversee all aspects of swim lessons, advanced aquatics, adult
and senior programming, fitness and recreational programming,
and overall schedule of activities both public
and member-driven,
- Prepare for and operate the municipal outdoor pools as per our
agreements, Monitor aquatic environments for humidity,
chemistry and aquatic testing. Work with the maintenance team
on any issues,
- Work with internal systems for payroll, scheduling, finances,
work-orders, and more, Maintain and build relationships with
industry-related organizations we are affiliated with,
- Maintain the certifications necessary to perform this job,
including NLS and YSI, or equivalent, Facilitate courses,
in-services, and all other trainings as needed,
- Collaborate with other departments including marketing,
administration, membership, and more,
- Manage financial budgets, forecasting, and capital planning,
and
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications exigées
Skills & Qualifications
- A satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable record
check is required as a condition of employment.
- Standard First Aid and Level C/CPR is a required as a condition
of employment.
- National Lifeguard Certification (NLS) is required as a
condition of employment.
- Aquafitness certification or other related certifications.
- 5+ years of supervising staff.
- Able to work flexible hours.
- Post secondary education.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
